Creating a Vintage style Barbie kitchen from an inexpensive purchased one

I bought a very inexpensive off-brand fashion doll kitchen several years ago when my daughters played with Barbies. I've seen some wonderful re-dos of plastic fashion doll furniture lately, and decided to try it. The kitchen was white with bright purple and hot pink elements. I love mid-century modern and vintage things from the 1950's and 1960's, so that was my goal.
I had some fun doing a craft room scene a couple of months ago. I built a desk for my shop, and wanted to shoot some photos. I ended up spending about an hour setting up a cool craft/sewing/office type room. The tiny paint bottles were made for me by my friend, Kathy. Some of the miniature things are hand made; many are Re-ment. I am a bit (ha ha) of a stationery/office and craft supplies addict, and of course this addiction filters into the miniature world as well.

Here are some scenes with the vintage Dream House vanity.

I recently found the pink table and chairs set along with some of the original pots and pans and dishes.

These are not my photos, just photos I found in a Google search of Dream Houses. My pink one is set up, but currently being used to store a lot of Barbie furniture, and I haven't had a chance to assemble the yellow and orange version yet.

I've also been collecting furniture for my vintage Barbie Dream Houses, the A-Frame styles. I bought the 1980's pink version in a thrift store about 12 years ago for $10. It's in fair shape, but not perfect. I found a 1970's yellow version on craigslist last summer that's in much better condition. Over the course of the last two years, I've been buying furniture for the houses whenever I find a good deal. Luckily, the yellow and orange house came with some of the original furniture.

I've added a few houses to my collection!
