I found another sink unit! I have removed the sink so that this section can become cabinets and counter space. I have the painting done, but still need to finish the back splash and counter. This is definitely progress, but with my extremely tight schedule, finding time to work on personal projects literally means going without sleep. More to come as soon as I can!

Before and After comparison:

I still have some work to do to add more counter space, and I found a vintage kitchen island on Ebay that I may incorporate into this kitchen project. I haven't gotten it yet, so I'm not sure if it will work or not.

Sneak Peek of a new Barbie kitchen makeover

This is the original kitchen color. The seller threw the white fridge in as an extra.

I love the yellow vintage Sindy kitchens, and thought about going with yellow, but I saw a great vintage Sears kitchen in lime green and that helped me choose green.

I was able to remove all of the doors, which made spray painting a lot easier. NO taping!

I still have a long way to go, because I want to add extra counter space or a peninsula of some sort. I still haven't figured out exactly what I want to do for walls and flooring. I was going for a 1970's look, but a little updated. A wonderful friend sent me the orange quatrefoil paper, so that is definitely something I'm considering. I also need to make a table and either buy or make some chairs.

Creating a Vintage style Barbie kitchen from an inexpensive purchased one

I bought a very inexpensive off-brand fashion doll kitchen several years ago when my daughters played with Barbies. I've seen some wonderful re-dos of plastic fashion doll furniture lately, and decided to try it. The kitchen was white with bright purple and hot pink elements. I love mid-century modern and vintage things from the 1950's and 1960's, so that was my goal.
I had some fun doing a craft room scene a couple of months ago. I built a desk for my shop, and wanted to shoot some photos. I ended up spending about an hour setting up a cool craft/sewing/office type room. The tiny paint bottles were made for me by my friend, Kathy. Some of the miniature things are hand made; many are Re-ment. I am a bit (ha ha) of a stationery/office and craft supplies addict, and of course this addiction filters into the miniature world as well.
